Composite Technician Position

Symmetrix Composite Tooling is actively looking to hire immediately experienced composite technicians to work in our plug and mold shop.

Located in: Statesville, North Carolina

Salary: $14.00 to $18.00 /hour

Symmetrix Composite Tooling is a composite shop working on unique, high-performing, composite forms, molds, prototypes, and plugs custom engineered for innovators in the aerospace, art & architecture, marine, transportation, and alternative energy industries. Our CMS 5-Axis Machining center is state-of-the-art, allowing us to create seemingly impossible complex forms, quickly, with extreme precision. We pride ourselves on the craftsmen in our facility who plan, fabricate, finish, polish, and adjust every project we tackle.

Composite Technician Position

The successful applicant should have basic work skills in a composite manufacturing environment, with experience in several of the following skills:
1

Vinylester Lamination

Experience laminating with vinylester, polyester resins, hand lay-up

Gel Coat Repair

Experience with patching and repairing gel coat.

Buffing post-processing work

Experience with buffing post-processing work
4

Sanding and Fairing

Sanding, fairing skills and able to prep for painting
5

Detail Oriented

Strong attention to detail
6

Hand Tools Experience

Skilled with hand tools
7

Works well with others

Can take verbal and written instructions and works well with others.
8

Spraying Experience

Spraying experience is a plus but not required

Job Details

Symmetrix shop floor workers are expected to help with all other positions on the shop floor. The successful candidate will have the willingness to learn and perform other tasks on the shop floor, such as pattern and mold construction.

After a 90-day trial period, the candidate will receive paid holidays, PTO, access to health, dental, and vision insurance and overtime when available.
